Let a little light shine

I never thought of it before, but since I’m decorating my house I discovered how hard it is to find beautiful lamps that fit in your interior. Ofcourse you have people who just choose the most basic ceiling lamp there is, but in my opinion a beautiful lamp can give something extra to a room. At the moment I’m saving for a Jielde. I’m thinking about buying a vintage one online in France and let it ship to Holland, but you also have some brand new ones at Sissy Boy that look pretty great. The pricetag of the new ones are only a little bit above my budget at the moment.. So when I want one of those some more saving is very necesarry! Below you find some pictures of Jielde lamps, but also some pic’s of the great lamps of Lee Broom, a few Edison lamps and some cool industrial ones. Enjoy:

Outfit inspiration: Just zip it

just zip it

Went shopping at Primark a while ago and ended up with this cute green top with a zip on the back. I haven’t showed it to you yet, but hey it’s better to show it you now than never! Also bought the little brown tan bag with a braided detail on the front. I want to combine it with dark blue jeans and some Ray Ban sunglasses. The only thing I’m waiting for is the sun to shine…

Travel wishlist: Cherry blossoming in Japan

Last year I already went to Japan, but unfortunately it was not the time of the cherry blossoming. Cherry what?! Yes, cherry blossoming. It’s the time in Japan when the flowers in all the trees start to bloom. The whole world seems to be covered in pinkness. The cherry blossom festival in Japan is also called The Japanese Sakura or annual hanami and people celebrate that spring has come. Flowers in Japan represent a new beginning and life. Most people go to the park to picknick with family and friends during this celebration. Take a look at some pic’s I found online and I bet that after this post, it’s on your bucketlist as well!

Best places to watch the cherry blossoming

As mentioned before one of the best places to watch the cherry blossoming is in the park. The Japanese Sakura is in april and march, so that’s the best time to visit. In early april some of the best places in Tokyo are the Shinjuku Gyoen, Ueno park or Chidorigafuchi. When you are in Osaka, you must go to the Osaka castle. You can watch this beautiful building while it’s surounded by perfect pink trees. Kyoto is by itself one of the best places to visit in Japan in my opinion, but I can imagine that it gets even better when you go there during the cherry blossoming. Visit the Ninnaji temple, the Philosopher’s path or walk up to the kiyomizu temple and taste some green tea sweets on the way.

Got to love those fluffy pom poms

Few weeks ago I went to the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and I saw in the museum shop these lovely pom poms. Also stumbled acrossed it in a Dutch interior magazine and since then I see them everywhere. Pom poms on Pinterest, Pom poms in blogposts, Pom poms in shops. So I thought, why not make a post of it! I think there just as cool for home decoration as the Ju Ju hats. And besides that, I also think that they are great to use as party decoration, for example at a wedding or if you are hosting a summerparty in the garden. By the way, don’t you also think that the pom poms also look a little bit like the fluffy things that you make as a kid in school with cotton or wool?

Fashion inspiration: Aztec skirts

Seems I can’t get enough of the Aztec trend! After buying my Aztec Zara trousers and nude Aztec top I’m now thinking about buying an Aztec skirt. I’m only not sure yet which one. The dilemma starts with choosing between a sequin skirt or one with a print… Found some inspirational pictures, maybe that will help! Ofcourse I collected them, so you can help me choose :) which one is your favourite or did you already bought an Aztec skirt yourself? Let me know, because some i’m always open for some good fashion advise!
